Breathwork is not recommended for individuals with cardiovascular issues (recent heart attack, unmanaged high blood pressure), severe asthma or chronic respiratory conditions, history of seizures or epilepsy, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, severe psychiatric conditions, late-stage pregnancy, recent major surgeries, heavy psychiatric medications, or unprocessed trauma without proper support.
What safety protocols are in place during sessions?
We maintain ongoing consent where participants can modify or pause at any time, with regular reminders of choice and autonomy. Our touch protocol ensures no touch without explicit prior consent, with clear boundaries communicated. We also provide trauma-aware monitoring, watching for dissociation signs and ready to provide grounding support.
How do you screen participants?
Our pre-journey assessment includes questions about medical conditions affecting breath/physical activity, history of seizures/fainting during breathwork, pregnancy/postpartum status, current psychiatric care/medications, and additional relevant health information.
